awww Woolworths and their supercheap DVD's & CD's - always happy to leave my money there *chuckle*

today:

- Reservoir Dogs DVD
- Control DVD(finally!)
- Skinned Deep & Satan's Little Helper (some supercheap horror B-movies haha)
- Guns'n'Roses best of CD
- Mamas and Papas - California Dreamin album

nearly bought the Grindhouse DVD too, but I'm waiting until it's down to 5 quid
right, what to watch first?

showering at the gym wasn't as bad as expected, but seriously, working out in this heat is no fun :( I have to slow down and do things a lot easier, otherwise I would pass out - damn this low blood pressure *gah* I think I need to go to the GP some time, I'm getting fed up with feeling faint all the time in the heat :(

11/5/08 00:16

oh dear, I installed an anti-spyware program (again) and did a search (first in errr 3 years or so) - it came up with over 370 spyware programs, 3 of them were malicious :/ buggerly... well, they're gone now, the pc is already a bit quicker :-D

nonetheless, this computer has got to go, I'm getting Robert's new computer (which has Windows Vista, booooo!) once we move in a few months time, and he's buying a new one.

10/5/08 12:43

Saturday morning, up at 7.30, managed to do: (I like to use the time in the morning when it's still cool - can't do much once the heat set in)

- went to the post office and sent off a parcel to Austria
- grocery shopping for the upcoming week
- an hour at the gym (again, I think I'll go there as early as possible in summer - sadly most other people have the same idea lol)

10/5/08 08:06

bloody hell, last night was idiot night again at the pub opposite - or maybe because I left the window open I saw/heard more than usual... apart from the usual loud arguing/fist fights:

- a car driving at high speed against the one-way and narrowly missing another car that was coming the right way
- 3 bottles smashed on the street under loud applause
- football hymn singing (wasn't aware there was a game on last night)
- and I heard a car bumping into another car, but driving off at high speed.

Seriously... and it wasn't even full moon lol

9/5/08 20:50

things I need to buy for this summer (Bloodstock & Isle of Wight in a few weeks):

- Stetson/cowboy hat (trip to Camden coming up soon)

- new sunglasses (again, Camden. Sunglasses these days all seem to be either huge or ugly)

- swimsuit (argh... that one's going to be tough - try finding a cheap onepiecd swimsuit in black without any frills, bows & other girly stuff on them... and it needs to have bra wires)

I'm absolutely livid at the acts of the Burmese government, this is nuts and ... argh, I'm speechless

9/5/08 07:55

I'm proud of myself - I managed to do 30 min of excercises (10 min on the stepper!) yesterday evening, despite the heat and humidity (it had 29 degrees in our flat lol). I'm in a massive dilemma now. In order to get to the fitness studio after work I have to take the tube. However when it's more than 20 degrees I take the overland train from Waterloo to Wimbledon to get home as I feel faint on the tube when it's that hot. Now I can't get to the gym after work, only at the weekend - and our flat is directly under the roof, so it heats up a lot during summer (not even 3 fans help) and doing excercises leave me even more faint afterwards in the heat - argh. Need. To. Move.

Just as well we're starting to look for a flat for real next month *gnah*

8/5/08 19:15

scorching hot outside today and I was sitting in the office freezing my ass off... *gnargh* one of my work collegues fainted in the afternoon, poor her - don't know why, she just fainted and felt very weak afterwards.

I was thinking of doing martial arts again - I did HapKiDo at University for a year or so (was free), and I'd love to do Wing Tsun or something similar - my sister is doing Aikido (and she's even teaching it!) but that's too boring for my liking - I like action and raw power to be used, not slow flowing movements... Aikido looks awesome, but it's just nothing for me.

Anyway, I have looked into classes nearby, there are a few suitable ones around. One club I immediately dismissed, one of the rules in the classes is not to swear - lol I swear like a trooper, so that's out of question for me *G* apart from that the classes are £ 45 - £65 per month for 4 classes, that is simply far too much.

He's got to be fucking kidding - now Boris wants to ban alcohol on tube, bus, tram etc...

to all the people on my LJ (half of it, then) going to the WGT this week: HAVE FUN *G*

6/5/08 21:57 - Will you be a crmininal on Thursday?

Re- Post from C.Cook

TO QUOTE:
MEDIA RELEASE

"Your Books and CDs Make You a Criminal on Thursday
People to Burn Their Books on Wednesday
Section 62 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act, which is due to receive Royal Assent on Thursday 8th May, prohibits the possession of ‘violent’, ‘;pornographic’ images, whether or not those images are staged.

This law is so vaguely worded that hundreds of thousands of unsuspecting people will be criminalised overnight, and risk a three-year-jail sentence simply for owning such mainstream books and album covers as these:

• Sex by Madonna: ISBN 0-446-51732-1
• The Mammoth Book of Erotic Photography, edited by Maxim Jakubowski and Marilyn Jaye Lewis.

ISBN: 1-84119-325-9
• Sex: Take a Walk on the Wild Side (Masterpieces of Erotic Fantasy Photography) Edited by Tony Mitchell.

ISBN: 1-56025-363-0
• The Dwarves Must Die (CD): The Dwarves: Sympathy.
ASIN: B0002KVUX4

During the House of Lords debate on 30 April, Baroness Miller of Chilthorne Domer described this move as: “truly the domain of the thought police. These clauses are the state entering the bedrooms and minds of citizens before they commit any crime that involves harm to another human being.

”Baroness Howe of Idlicote and others in both Houses of Parliament have called for a Parliamentary Select Committee to be set up to inquire into “New Media and Violence” and consider what changes need to be made to the Criminal Justice Bill before Section 62 is enacted.

To mark this erosion of civil liberties, and to support the call for a Select Committee, soon-to-be banned books, pictures, record sleeves and digital material will be burned in a protest by ordinary citizens outside the British Library on Wednesday 7th May at 11am."

That doesn't only apply to books, it applies to the possesion of pictures on your computer as well - bondage pictures, stills from movies, anything where it looks like someone could be harmed - even if it's clear it's not the case, even if it's you in the picture and you consented to it, will be illegal and you could go to jail for up to 3 years, and you will be placed on the sex offender register for life.

I have written to my MP a few times and spread the word, and inspite of much lobbying from Backlash etc it didn't help :( It's not a law YET, but it will be soon if we don't mobilise the media to make pressure on the government - this law is ridiculous!

5/5/08 11:21

Dragged this little gem home yesterday from Argos:

Now I can do more stuff at home when I don't have time to go the gym:

10 min on the stepper
10 min weight training & stomach muscle training
10 min stretching
----------
30 min training

Perfect :-D

Going to buy new trainers today - did you know that from the moment of the production of trainers the shelf life is 10 months before the material deflates? In theory you should buy new trainers every 10 months. I had mine for 3 years, although I only used them the past half year lol

So even if you buy brandnew trainers in a shop, if they were in the shelf for a few months you only have a few months left before the material deflates. Read it in Metro a while ago:

We had [info]luctaminaand Charles over yesterday for an afternoon of board games & food & music - I finally was able to use that 70ies cook book I bought in a charity shop a while ago and made Cannelloni from scratch (well, not the pasta, I used lasagne sheets for them) - yumyum, they tasted much better than I thought! Have to do them again.

And this is what we played:

Off to the London Alternative Market in a few hours, and tonight it's my radioshow :)

I didn't vote for him!

As someone else said on another forum:

'I think the London voters just replaced the Americans as the stupidest electorate in the world'

And the other thing that baffles me - Londoners complain constantly about what's wrong with their city, but the one time they have a chance to actually do something they're not going to the elections - only 45 % went! *shakes head*

Bizarre magazine are doing a ball in October at SEone, looks pretty promising - I might well go there if I can manage to snap up a ticket... anybody else going?

not too happy that everybody can buy prints of these photos without us benefiting, especially as the photographers didn't tell us about that... but hey ho, shit happens

1/5/08 20:20

so who else is going to the Cybercide gig on the 25th of May at the Underworld? I know Panzer AG are playing too, but I don't really know them - I'm going definitely but it would be nice to go with other people :-D

ohhh I can't wait for that gig! *jumps around like mad to the music*
